Paulina our resident Interior Designer was bursting with excitement when she stocked our showroom with the latest exclusive Patricia Urquiola (Spanish architect and designer) designed tiles. With decades of experience in the industry and a passion for design, Paulina thrives on beautiful quality products and brings our showroom to life with her knowledge of designers, trends and styles. That is why you can always be sure to have the best range of tiles at your finger tips when visiting our showroom.
Maura from Newtown visited our showroom after a recommendation by Interior Decorator Susan Pehar at homewares and design store, Ducks Nest in Pakington Street Geelong West. Maura was in the process of renovating her bathroom which was last remodelled in 1995, two years prior to her family purchasing the home. Pre-reno, the bathroom was heritage styled and Maura says the quality was superb, however she wanted to update the style to be more modern whilst respecting the original era of the home.
Maura had seen Patricia Urquiola’s tiles on Channel 9’s The Block Sky High in Trixie and Johnno’s challenge apartment master ensuite as depicted below.
Maura loved the tiles, however due to the orientation of her own bathroom and lack of natural light, the charcoal palette would have enclosed the room. So Maura decided on the Bianco (white) range of tiles which has brightened the room and added beautiful style and sophistication with subtle pattern.
Maura and her husband retained and resprayed their cast iron freestanding bath from the original house build in 1913. They received expensive quotes for the respray, however some friendly advice put them in the direction of K & M Paints where they purchased a DIY kit at the fraction of the quote. Nice work.
The entire renovation was done in a very short time frame of 3 weeks. Maura’s building manager, Leigh Collins, recommended using Kevin and Cane Stevens from South Coast Tiling. The tiling team had planned an overseas holiday in the coming weeks, so Maura had to quickly get organised before the duo went jetsetting. She shopped around for her bathroom hardware and vanity and highly recommends Reece Plumbing on La Trobe Terrace Geelong as they were the only supplier to guarantee her order would arrive in her limited time frame.
