ECLECTIC
Adjective: Deriving ideas, style or taste from a broad and diverse range of sources.
Can’t determine your style? Do you have a love of vintage pieces but happy mixing them with new/modern décor? Perhaps you have a collection of sentimental pieces from different countries or eras and a fetish for decorative wall paper.

Do you love filling your home with furniture and accessories from the Geelong Mill Markets or spend Saturday’s hopping between garage sales looking for unique homewares? If so, maybe your style is Eclectic.

Although an Eclectic interior is a combination of more than one style, there is method behind the madness.

An Eclectic interior may have furniture and accessories from differing design styles and periods, but they all should be tied nicely together using similar colours, textures, shapes and finishes.

When designing an Eclectic style kitchen or bathroom, use the following elements in your hard surfaces:
- Subway tiles
- Black and white
- A balance of old and new
- Pops of bright colour

Tracy, Interior Designer from our Geelong West Showroom, has collated this tile and laminate palette to create the Eclectic look.
When creating your Eclectic interior, to avoid a chaotic mess, use a neutral colour base to assist with tying all varying furnishings together. The remaining themed colours should be kept to a minimum to no more than 4 but can vary in contrast. Although you may have a mix of items and valuables, they still need to work cohesively together.

Creating the Eclectic look sure can be a fun way to express your personality and has timeless appeal due to its celebration of old and new. Be inspired by more Eclectic interiors on Pinterest.
