Black on Black. This Week’s Showroom Tile Display.

This week’s table concept is Luxurious Black.  Black is such an elegant and classic colour.  Like white, black is timeless if done right.  If you’re looking for a cool elegant look, go with black!

Flipping through the Kitchens & Bathrooms Quarterly Magazine, I found an awesome kitchen that fit this theme perfectly.  I mimicked the look with what we have here in the showroom.  I used a marble tile for the floors and aluminium mosaics for the splashback and paired the two with a Caesarstone bench top and a flat black laminate.

I love pairing a dark marble with a gloss black tile.  I think it makes an elegant look, look a little more edgy.

I also like the look of ceramic timber tiles with white subway tiles but being that this is a black theme I switched it up a bit and found an edgier version of the classic look.  Using a size up from the standard sized subway tile in black and a dark black and grey grained timber tile, and paired it with a dark grey matt laminate and a “Jet Black” Caesarstone.

If you like pattern, I would go with these long tiles as a feature or splashback.  I paired them with a semi gloss dark grey tile for the floors and a black/grey grain melamine and a Caesarstone bench top for a vanity or cupboards.

Any of these concepts would work beautifully in a bathroom or kitchen.  If your space has little natural light I would try to brighten it up with cool light fixtures, just so that the space isn’t too dark.  If you are afraid of the space being dark, opt for one of the lighter marble tiles for the flooring. All of these looks should be kept simple; the feature is in the tile combination alone.
