Blue’s My Hue: This week’s tile showroom display!

I’ve never seen a ‘blue’ I didn’t like – from the pale baby blues to the inky navy blues and everything in between! As far as I’m concerned they can all live harmoniously together, but I get that it can be a bit much to have the colour layered in all aspects of your house. Luckily, the huge variety of blue products, especially tiles, makes it easy for everyone to incorporate a touch of this great colour into their home.

Classic

Blue and white is a classic combo – you can’t go wrong! For a modern take on a more traditional look, team these patterned square tiles, which feature a slight texture and come in all shades of blue and white, with grey Caesarstone bench tops and white cabinetry, shown below. They can be used in smaller doses by breaking up the pattern with plain white tiles or in a lot to create a feature and form an integral piece of the overall design.

Subtle

For a more subtle hit of blue, and something a bit more modern, team blue with greys, beiges and creamy whites. These modern geometric tiles can be arranged in a myriad of ways, and blue can be added as little or as much as you like. Team with large-scale grey floor tiles and modern cabinetry and fixtures that will suit both a modern bathroom and work as a splash back in the kitchen. Or try the grey encaustic tiles featuring modern blue prints.

I love this bathroom, which uses a blue subway tile on all the wall surfaces, teamed with a dark grey floor tile and crisp white bathtub. This design could work in both a modern or traditional home.

Highlights

For those wanting to incorporate blue into the design, but don’t want to commit to a blue tile, why not try blue grout! Teamed here with white subway tiles, this aqua blue grout looks fantastic under the bench and would make a fabulous splash back in any kitchen space.

No Limit

Blue works with all your neutral colours (whites, greys, blacks & creams), as a primary colour it works great with other primary colours (red & yellow, as well as different shades of itself), it teams perfectly with natural timbers and can make the most calming or dramatic of colour palettes. While I think there is a shade of blue out there to suit every taste and style, why not come in and have a look for yourself? The options are endless, and to throw in a cheap pun – the blue sky is your limit!

Just a few of my favourites – Enjoy!
